LAKE BLED SELF-GUIDED CYCLING

Upon individual arrival in the enchanting town of Bled, you'll be greeted by the tranquil beauty of Lake Bled and its iconic island. Check-in at your cozy hotel nestled amidst the stunning Alpine scenery. Take some time to relax and soak in the picturesque surroundings, perhaps strolling along the lakeshore promenade or indulging in a traditional Slovenian meal at one of the local restaurants. On evening we will meet you at hotel lobby to talk tour into details, share options to experience additional activities during the trip. Together we will  test and adjust delivered bikes.

A day of cycling around Lake Bled and surrounding villages offers breathtaking views of the crystal-clear turquoise waters surrounded by towering mountains, lush greenery, and charming typical Alpine villages. You can stop for sightseeing at iconic Bled Castle perched on a cliff and add a hiking tour through magnificent Vintgar Gorge, one of Bled’s most stunning natural attractions, featuring dramatic cliffs, waterfalls, and crystal-clear waters. A prior reservation of a visit date is required.

Today you will start with a short van ride to the picturesque Pokljuka Plateau. Cycling through this stunning landscape is truly a delight, as you traverse from woodlands to meadows and pastures on smooth roads until you reach the captivating Bohinj valley. Spend the day exploring this mesmerizing glacial wonder before heading back to Bled, or opt for a relaxing Alpine train ride from Bohinjska Bistrica for a memorable end to your cycling adventure.

The cycling route takes you through some of the most scenic landscapes in the Julian Alps, offering a mix of natural beauty and cultural experiences. Starting from the quiet Radovna valley, you will make your way to Krma, known for its stunning beauty. The Kovinarska mountain hut provides a cozy stop along the way before returning to Krnica.

For those looking to extend their journey, an option is presented to cycle over a short ascent to Mojstrana. Here, visitors can explore the Slovenian Alpine Museum, which offers insights into the rich alpine heritage of the region.

Continuing on, you will pass through the picturesque Sava Dolinka valley en route to Jesenice and eventually Bled. Each leg of this cycling adventure promises unique sights and experiences, showcasing the diverse offerings of the Julian Alps region.

Embark on this scenic journey that begins at the Ribno Field, offering panoramic views of the surrounding hills. Traverse through the charming Sava Bohinjka Valley to Radovljica, where you can explore the Medieval Town Tarkers and the Museum of Apiculture.

Follow the forest trail to reach the renowned Slovene pilgrimage center in Brezje, passing by historic landmarks like Drnča Castle, Kamen Castle, and Katzenstein Castle. A stop in Begunje allows for an immersion into the world of Slovene folk music at the Avsenik museum. As the route progresses through the Alpine flight center in Lesce and along the Sava Dolinka river, soak in the beauty of the landscape until you reach your destination in Bled.

Begin your journey with a ride through the picturesque villages to Blejska Dobrava, a quiet village surrounded by lush scenery.

Cross the Jesenice reservoir dam, where the tranquil waters provide a serene backdrop, before climbing to the picturesque Završnica Valley, a hidden treasure in the heart of the Karavanke mountains.

The final stretch leads you through the Sava Dolinka Valley, offering sweeping views of the surrounding peaks as you cycle back to Bled, completing a route rich in natural beauty and Alpine charm.

Embark on a breathtaking journey from the enchanting town of Bled, following the Sava Dolinka River to Lesce and across the Radovljica plain to Begunje. Ascend the Underhillroad for stunning views of the Julian Alps and the picturesque Radovljica. Explore Tržič, rich in history and culture, before continuing to Kropa, the birthplace of iron-forging, and Kamna Gorica, where this tradition endures. Conclude your adventure through the serene Lipnica Valley, following the Sava Bohinjka River back to captivating Bled.
