Self Guided Dog-Friendly Hiking (7 days)

Getting to Diex, dinner and overnight at hotel Jesch. Doggy welcome party and introductory meeting for the group.

After breakfast you will start your first hiking tour from the hotel along a mountain ridge towards Diex. You will be accompanied by magnificent views of the hilly landscape of the Saualpe, the wide river Drau and the main peaks of the Karawanks. Numerous roadside crosses, shrines and the defiant fortified church of Diex will accompany you along the way. Free time in the afternoon. (Tour duration: 3 ½ hours). Dinner and overnight at hotel Jesch.

You will have an organized transfer to Eberndorf which boasts an impressive courtyard and a beautiful monastery church. Your hike will lead you to the nature reserve of Sablatnigmoores, where you can observe numerous water birds. Pass the Turnersee, where you can also swim, the trail will lead you to Kitzelberg, a mountain with beautiful views. Your goal will be Seelach by Klopeiner See. (Tour duration: 4 hours). Dinner and overnight at Hotel Marko.

A shorter round tour will take you to Klopeiner See. You can also hike to the ridge Gracarca with traces of prehistoric and medieval settlement and to the Georgiberg mountain with views of the foothills of the Alps. After the hike, you can swim in Klopeiner See, the warmest lake in Austria, or a special doggy lake near your hotel. In the evening, don’t miss the doggie mixer, packed with fun activities at the hotel’s doggie park! Dinner and overnight at Hotel Marko. (Tour duration: 3 ½ hours)

On this day, an organized transfer will take you and your dog across the border to Logar Valley, where you will start your first Slovenian hike. Upon arrival at the destination, you will walk along the Natural History and Ethnographic trail in the Logar Valley, which will take you through the interesting parts of the landscape park and after a short ascent lead you to the Rinka waterfall. During the journey you will learn about the heritage of logging, charcoal burning and farming in this remote mountain corner. You will also learn about the flora and fauna of the landscape park Logar Valley and the Kamnik – Savinja Alps. (Tour duration: 4 hours) Dinner and overnight at tourist farm Lenar.

After breakfast you will start an easy hiking tour from the Logar Valley to the hut at Klemenča Cave, from which there is a lovely view of the upper part of the Logar Valley. (Tour duration: 2 hours) In the afternoon follows a fun and with activities packed doggy goodbye party, which will take place in the midst of this stunning valley. A day in a true paradise for dogs, which is not to be missed!
